Sheriff's Office Searches for Suspected Burglar

Santa Barbara Sheriff’s detectives are searching for a parolee who has been on the run since burglarizing a home in Los Alamos.
43-year old Daren James Blomgren (DOB 1/10/68) of Santa Maria, is suspected of breaking into the home on Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Within a few hours, Sheriff’s deputies and detectives had tracked Blomgren and a Santa Maria woman to a motel on the 1000 block of Main Street in Santa Maria.
Blomgren was not located, but Sheriff’s deputies and detectives found 55-year old Jean Marie Carignan (DOB 9/25/56) in a motel room along with methamphetamine and stolen property from the burglary.
They arrested her on several counts, including burglary(459 PC felony), receiving stolen property (496(A) PC felony), criminal conspiracy (182(A)(1) PC felony), possession of a controlled substance for sale (11378 H&S felony) and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia (11364 H&S misdemeanor). She was booked on $50,000 bail which she posted October 20, 2011.
