Narcotic Traffickers Arrested in South County
Santa Barbara - December 22nd, 2011
On Thursday December 22, 2011, after a two month long investigation, Sheriff Narcotics Detectives arrested two Santa Barbara county residents suspected of dealing methamphetamine in south Santa Barbara County.
Narcotics Detectives served a search warrant at the dealers’ residence in the 4100 block of State St. in the unincorporated area of Santa Barbara this afternoon. During the service of the search warrant, detectives contacted the suspect, Armando ARRIAGA (DOB 12-10-83), as he left his residence.
Detectives contacted an additional subject, Kevin CARTER (DOB 10-23-91) inside the residence, where they also located methamphetamine packaged for sales, scales, packaging materials and other items indicative to narcotics. Additionally, $500 in cash was seized from ARRIAGA pursuant to State Asset Forfeiture laws.
ARRIAGA was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for violation of 11378 H&S – Possession of methamphetamine for sales. During the booking process, ARRIAGA was found to have secreted ½ ounce of methamphetamine and a baggie of Dilaudid pills packaged for sales on his person. He was therefore additionally charged for violations of 4573 P.C. – Bring narcotics into custodial facility and 11351 H&S – Possession of controlled substance for sales.
CARTER was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for violations of 11378 H&S – Possession of methamphetamine for sales and 11364 H&S. He also had (2) outstanding felony warrants.
Both ARRIAGA and CARTER are being held without bail due to probation violations.
