LOMPOC P.D. DUI CHECKPOINT RESULTS
NETS 10 Arrests

LOMPOC- MARCH 15th, 2010

The Lompoc Police Department conducted 2 DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints on Saturday March 13, 2010 & Sunday March 14, 2010 as part of Lompoc’s commitment to public safety.  These checkpoints were some of the many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Lompoc. The location of Saturday’s checkpoint was on Ocean Avenue (SR 246) at 7th Street as you enter the City from the Buellton area and Sunday’s was in the 200 block of north H Street.  The goal of DUI Checkpoints is removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. 

A passenger of one vehicle was arrested after it was found he had a Warrant for a driving without a license, and he still had not obtained a California license. 

One adult was arrested for possessing marijuana, prescription medication without a prescription, and being a minor in possession of alcohol, 5 cases of Bud light.

 The following charges/arrests were made during the checkpoints:

Driving without a drivers license                        5           
Driving on a suspended license                             3
Drivers evaluated for D.U.I                              34 Drivers were drinking but under the limit of .08
D.U.I arrest                                                          1   (.16 BAC, twice the legal limit)
Vehicles towed for a 30-day hold                       8
Vehicles towed for a 1-day hold                         1                         
Vehicles passing thru the checkpoints              1750 (Every car was checked)

The checkpoints were funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  Report Drunk Drivers – Call 9-1-1!
