Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives Arrest College Student

Isla Vista- May 20th, 2010

Sheriff’s Narcotics Detectives have arrested a UCSB student following a two week investigation into cocaine sales in Isla Vista.

Based on the information gathered during the investigation, Narcotics Detectives contacted Alvanna Oliphant (DOB: 06-04-89) in the 6500 block of Trigo Road in Isla Vista just before 11:30 am on Thursday, May 13, 2010.

A short time later, Narcotics Detectives served a search warrant at Oliphant’s residence in the 6500 block of El Colegio Road.  The search of the suspected drug dealer’s apartment uncovered more than a ¼ ounce of cocaine packaged for sales, a scale, packaging materials, and other items indicative to narcotic sales and use.  The street value of the drugs is estimated at over $800.

Oliphant was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $30,000 for the following charges:  11351 H&S, possession of cocaine for sales, and 11364 H&S, possession of drug paraphernalia.
