Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives Arrest 2 Drug Suspects
Goleta - June 8th, 2009
Santa Barbara County Sheriff Narcotics Detectives have arrested two people following a two month long investigation into suspected methamphetamine dealing in Santa Barbara County.
On Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009, Narcotics Detectives served a search warrant at the dealer’s residence in the 300 block of Ladera Street in Santa Barbara. During the service of the search warrant, the suspect, Marcos Cisneros HERNANDEZ (DOB 12-20-1975), was contacted inside the apartment. He was subsequently found to be in possession of approximately ¼ ounce of methamphetamine packaged for sales, a digital scale, packaging materials and over $2,300 in cash.
The methamphetamine was located inside of a small purse hidden in a pink child’s jacket. The jacket and drugs were laying on the floor of a bedroom that several children (ages 2, 4, 5, 9 and 10 years) share. Although the children were not there at the time, the drugs were easily accessible to them.
Also during the search warrant, an additional suspect, Fabiel BERNAL (DOB 01-06-1979) entered the apartment and was detained. He was found to be in possession of ½ pound (8 ounces) of methamphetamine which he was delivering to HERNANDEZ. The street value of the methamphetamine is estimated at $24,000.
HERNANDEZ was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail without bail due to his Probation and Immigration holds for violations of 11378 H&S – Possession of methamphetamine for sales, 273a (a) P.C. – Felony child endangerment and 1203.2 P.C. – Violation of Probation. BERNAL was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail without bail due to his Immigration hold for violation of 11379 H&S –Transportation of methamphetamine for sales.
