Rescue Crews Combine to Save Hiker
Man Injured Near Inspiration Point
Santa Barbara - July 22nd, 2010
At approximately 5:45pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2010, emergency personnel from Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team along with County Fire, U.S. Forest Service and AMR paramedics responded for an injured 53 year old male hiker near Inspiration Point west of Tunnel Trail.
A SBC Fire helicopter hoisted down a paramedic to the injured hiker and found him suffering from a knee injury and unable to walk. SAR and fire personnel using a stretcher and a wheel carried the hiker up the trail to a dirt power line road where he was transferred into a SAR 4x4 vehicle and transported down to a waiting ambulance.
